press: frock yeah.

A busy weekend followed by traveling (abroad, I might add) mixed with business meetings + family gatherings, can leave anyone a "little" behind with their work. In my case, I have been unintentionally behind with my emails (my inbox is currently full ... yes, I am in desperate need of an international phone with wifi capabilities). Well to change that status, this morning I decided to wake up early, sit in front of my laptop and force myself to go through my full inbox of countless emails.

Though the task was daunting at times, I was pleased to read a few new press mentions. One by DC based fashion blog, Frock Yeah. (A great style blog might I add!)

shop: adams morgan day.

This Sunday, Sept. 13th from 10-7pm is Adams Morgan Day. What is Adams Morgan Day? It's the longest continuous neighborhood festivals in DC ... filled with shopping, music and food. And we'll be there (No. 26 in the Arts on Belmont Section on Belmont Street) showcasing our new collection as well as selling off samples from past seasons!

I have to admit, I have a few retail butterflies in my stomach. It's been a while since we have done an outdoor show, but we are excited to get back into things. So stop by this Sunday! It would be great to meet and see new and familiar faces!!

de*nada on twitter!

So I've always been on the fence with twitter ... what is twitter?, what will I tweet about?, will I have time to tweet? etc. etc. However, after weighing out the pros and cons of twitter, I decided to create a twitter page for de*nada. Now, my only problem is what do I tweet about?

bags, por favor.

bags ...

As some of you may know, I started my brand designing handbags (feels like years ago). However after much thought, I decided to take a break from it. And instead, focus my full attention on knits, my absolute obsession. No worries, we plan on designing a new handbag collection in the near future. But until then, here's a selection of bags, which I have been drooling over for this fall season. (note: I chose the little owl clutch ... well, because it just look so cute) Enjoy!

christian siriano for payless?

This past weekend, I met up with my friend, Carla (aka. famed DC's fashion blogger of The President Wears Prada) who told me about Christian Siriano's new shoe collection at Payless ... and how she was impressed by the styles and quality. I had to see for myself (I'm 100% for getting great style at great deals ... *grin) So the following day, I headed to my local Payless and checked them out. True to her words, the shoes are amazing ... and was even more excited, when I saw alice+olivia's shoes staring at me. I think I spent over an hour in there trying on shoes and grinning with glee.

happy labor day.

Today is labor day. And although I normally take a mandatory mental day during holidays, today it's work day for me. In just a few days, I leave for Peru for three weeks where I plan to finish up s/s '10 + a/w '10 collection and export shipments among other things ... but also see my family, eat lots of food, and yes ... get ready for my short excursion to Ica for sand-boarding, dune bugging, etc.! I am psyched!! However until then, there is plenty to do in de*nada's office.

So to all of you who have today off ... Happy Labor Day!! ... enjoy!

press: the district style.

The District Style posted some lovely words about de*nada and our new collection.

It's always a thrill and a sincere compliment to receive such kind words and support from people I haven't even met throughout the world who appreciate my designs and aesthetic ... but on a personal level, I think when that support and love comes from someone from your hometown, it means much more (sort of like extra toppings on a sundae!!) Thank you District Style ... de*nada (hearts*) DC!!

Tonight, Kelly and I are heading to the CocoRosie show at the Black Cat. Love them, yet I've never heard them live ... so I'm excited to see them perform. After a busy week in the office, this is surely a treat for me!

music: midori hirano.

Midori Hirano is a new favorite artist of mine. I stumbled upon her music as I was listening to Pandora (aw, my favorite online site for tunes). Listening to their mix for The Rachel's, "feathers" started to play. It's a beautiful/gorgeous track that inevitably I fell in love with it. The video for it is also fantastic ...

summer cravings

I know ... it's September and many of you are already prepping for the fall season ... however since high temperatures still linger (in DC at least) 'til October, I think it's perfectly okay to still "polyvore shop" on some summer shoes ... since many are on sale right now (*smile). Here's my selection of shoes (created on polyvore) that I've been craving for ...
