Here at de*nada, we are constantly looking towards a variety of inspirations, whether it be from music, movies, or a celebrity's style. Recently, we have been obsessing over statement jewelry. When thinking of jewelry, a name that came to mind was Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960. Though Nicole Richie has been known for her time on reality television, she has multiple brands within the fashion industry - one being House of Harlow 1960, her jewelry line. We love that House of Harlow 1960 incorporates tribal, ethnic, and bohemian influences and can easily spice up a simple outfit.

de*nada: seeking models for lookbook photoshoot

De*Nada Design, an emerging accessories line specializing in handmade knits for women and men, is looking for models for an upcoming lookbook photoshoot in May.

We are looking for male and female models, between the ages of 18 to 24. Males should be 5’9” or taller without shoes and weigh no more than 170 lbs. Females should be 5’8” or taller without shoes and weigh no more than 125 lbs. Any race, eye or hair color is acceptable.

The photoshoot will be located in D.C. and is a paid gig. The specific time and date is TBD, but will take place on a Sunday in May.

friday: playlist no. 8

Hi guys!

It's Mara again, with my first official post. In the office, we have been preparing for a shipment of products that we will be receiving within the next few weeks. Preparing for this shipment has kept us all busy, but we never fail to listen to good music to keep us at ease. While all of us are hard at work, here at de*nada we love listening to a variety of music genres.

As my first post, I wanted to give you all a preview of more playlists to come. These songs are also on my personal iPod, and are constantly being replayed. Personally, I listen to this type of music when I'm feeling mellow and want to chill out. Hopefully these songs will help you unwind after a busy work week!

events: fashion: district!

Everyone at de*nada would like to congratulate ReadysetDC on their third fashion: district event, along with the many local designers that will be participating. fashion: district is a gathering of Washington, D.C. boutiques and businesses. Through fashion: district, designers have the opportunity to showcase their work and products to the public. Not only is fashion: district an outlet for the nation's capital's creativity to shine, but the proceeds from this Thursday's event will go towards the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Though de*nada will not be participating in the event, we will still be in attendance to support the local talent. As a previous fashion: district fashion show participant in the Fall/Winter of 2010, we know that it is vital to support fellow artists and designers.

introduction: new intern!

Hi all,

As a new intern for de*nada, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mara. I love all things fashion, film, food, and music. I can be extremely eclectic. I love everything from high end fashion to street style. I listen to everything from hip-hop to indie rock. I have an addiction to caffeine and have an even greater addiction for southern style iced tea. My personality isn't any different, as I can be anywhere from socially awkward to a complete chatterbox.

I first heard about de*nada when I was in high school, so interning for de*nada now is such an exciting opportunity! You'll hear from me often, since I am currently working to bring you guys fresh blog posts, weekly. Don't forget to check out our twitter, where I will be sure to update you on everything de*nada!

it's been a while ...

Time literally flies by so quickly. The last time I blogged, facebooked or even tweeted was several weeks ago! My sincere and utmost apology for being temporarily m.i.a.

This year, started off with a bang for us! Within the first two months of 2011, I increased my frequent flyer miles by 12,000 miles - traveling non-stop to Peru, Las Vegas and NYC, working hard to complete de*nada's fall/winter 2011 samples, and debuting our new line at tradeshows to buyers and retailers. Along with our endless to do's, I'm also planning my wedding, which is at the end of this month! - details to come.

Due to my to do's. I have little to no time to update de*nada's social sites. So to help out with our never-ending workload, one of our new interns will be helping me out updating de*nada's blog, facebook, and twitter page. Her name is Mara, and she's an absolute delight. She will be introducing herself tomorrow ... so stay tuned!!
