Arranged by Capitol Romance and Pop! Wed Co., the market hosted #Popupromance, a special and thoughtful event celebrating the importance of equality and how love can conquer all. In this event, we did a pop-up renewing of the vows for a lovely couple, Nicole and Rose. Joined by close family and friends, Nicole and Rose happily renewed their vows in front of an interactive art installation/backdrop that was created earlier that day. The backdrop comprised of bright rainbow colored hang tags with notes signifying the importance of love or the meaning of love written by guests who visited the market throughout the day. And as the parade passed by after the ceremony, Nicole and Rose joined the festivities, and were excitedly cheered on by the crowd.
This market was one of my favorite ones, and I was so happy to take part in it. To celebrate LGBT Pride month at the market was amazing, especially being in a heavily populated and LGBT friendly city. Capital Pride and the celebration of love equality at the market has great meaning to me - no matter what, you should love who you want to love and not be told who you can or can not love.
